Welcome to Erlebnisse, the blog that reviews the experience of reading–which usually results in a lot of discussion over how a book kept me up until 2am. Or how I threw a book against the wall. Or how I slammed a book closed as I started embracing my inner sailor. That, of course, is what this blog is all about.
But if you came to this page, then you’re curious to learn about me.
Erlebnisse serves as my second of three blogs that I run. I started my debut in blogging over at Thoughts Stained With Ink, back in…gosh, 2012, I believe! There, I don’t really have a theme or something I dedicate my blog specifically to. Instead, I simply write about what’s on my heart that day or what I need to get off my chest. If you’re curious, it usually covers topics like: my struggles and successes writing books, ultra personal emotions I don’t know how to handle (usually birthed my anxiety, depression and overthinking), video game rants or why you should go see X animated movie immediately.
One day, I wrote a post that was a book review and found that I really enjoyed it. Not only writing the review itself, but also gushing over the book, sharing the review and then talking about it with other fans, readers and sometimes, even the authors themselves!
So that’s how Erlebnisse came to be, in 2017.
But you’re still waiting to hear about me.
What can I say? I’m a 25 year old writer who lives smack dab in the middle of the United States, with an eclectic range of tastes and hobbies. I write, read and blog, of course, but I also: panic fire in RPG video games; roll Rogues who fight like Barbarians (but die a lot more often) in DnD campaigns; run slow miles but lift heavier weights; sweat a lot when I’m filling in a new part of my sleeve; am an amateur Tolkien Scholar; am obsessed with dragons, books, Lord of the Rings, dogs, cheese and well, food in general; am very close with my family and have the most amazing boyfriend imaginable; and I work as a Circulation Supervisor at a university library to pay off my ridiculous amount in student loans.
That’s me, in a nutshell.
So please, don’t be shy and come say hi! I can’t tell you how much it brightens my day to interact with people in the comments (especially when we’re gushing/ranting over books and shipping characters together).
Oh, and that third blog I mentioned above? It’s called Muse in Pocket, Pen in Hand: a collaborative work between three writers who publish new short stories every month and sprinkle in writing-related posts throughout. We started in 2017, but truly got our quills quivering in 2018 and would always love for you to tell us what you think of our stories.
Okay, now that that shameless plug is over, I think it’s time to wrap this post up, shall we?
